What the Elastic Waist Changes—and What It Doesn't
The waistband is elastic, but RIHOAS lists the cotton plaid fabric itself as non-stretch. The elastic provides flexibility at the waist opening; it does not establish extra stretch through the hips. Check both waist and hip measurements, and do not size down when your hip measurement requires the larger size.
This skirt is labeled natural-waisted. Its published length runs from 84 cm in XS to 89.5 cm in XL, so choose the size from the body measurements first and use the corresponding length as a separate reference for where the hem may fall on your frame.
